- Noise at Work / Workplace Noise:
The new Noise at Work Regulations, which came into force in 2006 for most businesses and April 2008 for the entertainment industry, place a duty on employers to assess their employees risk to noise induced hearing damage. Herwin Acoutics can help you by performing noise measurements, assisting you with your noise risk assesment and reducing employee exposure through management, noise control and hearing protection.Staff training is another responsibility at certain levels and training can be supplied or devised by Herwin Acoustics
- Noise & Vibration Control & Sound Insulation:
Soundproofing is a misused word with sound insulation being preffered. We have experience in noise control and sound insulation in both domestic and industrial settings including ventilation and can offer a design and implementation service if required.

- Acoustic Treatment:
Herwin Acoustics can design, manufacture and supply custom absorbers and diffusors to target problem areas in buildings where reverberation times are either too high or too low. The former is especially important in modern school designa nd also in performnce spaces. We use modern software techniques to asses reverberation times and develop solutions. Custom graphics can be applied to panels to integrate seamlessly into your building.
- Music, Video and Multimedia Studio Design & Build:
We can build completely isolated room within a room studios with floating floors and very quiet ventilation. With our background in music production and performance we can tailor your studio to you and your equipments needs. A complete service from design stage to commissioning including supply of equipment and instruments is available.
- PA design & installation
Again, our experience in live music production, working with acts such as Jack DeJohnette, John Surman, Karin Krog and Enter Shikari enables us to design, supply and install complete PA systems with lighting and other multimedia features with practica experience of the requirements for good sound. An effort is always made to encourage our clients to consider the acoustic properties of any room they wish to use for performance before purchasing new equipment.
- Acoustics & Sound Engineering Training:
We have provided training in areas such as Music Technology, Live Sound Engineering, Acoustics and Video and are fully CRB checked to allow us to work with both young people as well as adults. Courses can be structured in small and basic half day sessions or in week long courses or longer.
- School and College specialists:
Having worked with young people in many situations we are able to understand the needs of young people when designing acoustic solutions or training. We have particularly worked closely with Youth Services and Local Authorities providing training, building music studios and installing acoustic treatments to performance and learning spaces and offices.
- Tape & Forensic Audio Restoration
Covert surveillance audio files have been cleaned and restored by us to reveal dialogue masked by background noise and we also provide tape baking and transfer services to backup and sometimes restore archive recordings that are in danger of being lost.
